Caroleeena
Carolyn Mabry, aka Caroleeena of Circles of Joy, is a hoopdancer, poi spinner, flamenco dancer, performance poet and fire performer who teaches and performs nationally and internationally. She has been prominently featured with Cabaret Risque, the Little Feat Band, Spin Matsuri and in Kevin Bacon’s new music video and she has taught at Hoop Convergence and Wildfire. She also hosts The Raleigh Hoop Jam, a free, weekly gathering of hoopers, drummers, poi spinners and dancers at Pullen Park in Raleigh every Wednesday. Combining her passion for dance and movement with her love of service, she creates powerful, empowering projects that benefit people all over the world, including pediatric AIDS patients, the Governor Morehead School for the Blind and impoverished schools in Jamaica. Caroleeena believes that, through love, we can heal the world and through movement, we can build community, create vibrant good health and experience a direct path to joy.
